Changing the world for the better . . . One athlete, one workout at a time. |
CrossFit Richardson is a place with a humble beginning which has been growing quickly over the seven years the gym has been open. John Marshall, the current owner of CrossFit Richardson, had worked at a gym in Little Rock, Arkansas where he implemented CrossFit training for the first time. After working at this gym, he decided to go on his first business venture with his wife Julia and established CrossFit Richardson on June 1, 2008 inside a 2,000 square foot facility in Richardson, Texas. For the first year and a half, John and his wife were the only staff members of the company, doing everything from running classes and building a website to buying equipment and cleaning up the place. While John and his wife may have lacked elite business savvy, they have always been very relationship-driven people, transforming their box from a simple building for exercise into a community of people who love getting better and care for one another. This people-oriented culture of community and fitness was very attractive to people, causing expansion of the box into a 4,600 square foot facility after two years of being open. As members continued to grow, and community continued to form, there was a third and final move into a 6,500 square foot facility right across the street from their old facility, which is where CrossFit Richardson functions today.
